Serviced on time, not on guesswork
Most fleets in Tanzania service by memory or by a wall calendar, which means one vehicle is serviced too early and another is running two thousand kilometres past due. The /maintenance surface replaces the guess with a countdown per vehicle — set once, watched automatically, and surfaced before the work is late.
A rule per vehicle
Give each vehicle its service intervals — an oil change every so many kilometres, an inspection every so many months, the tyres, the licence. The schedule lives against the vehicle in /maintenance, not in someone's head.
By date and by distance
Date-based items count down on the calendar; distance-based items count down on the kilometres the vehicle actually drives, taken from its trips. A truck that runs hard reaches its service sooner than one that sits — and the schedule knows the difference.
Due, then overdue
As a service approaches you get a due reminder by SMS, WhatsApp or push; if it slips, it shows as overdue rather than disappearing. Log the work when it is done and the countdown resets, with the service kept in the vehicle's history.

What this cannot do
- It schedules and reminds; it does not perform the repair or order parts. The service still happens at your garage — the software makes sure it happens on time and gets recorded.
- Distance-based reminders depend on the vehicle having a tracker reporting trips. A vehicle with no device can still be scheduled by date, but its kilometres cannot be counted automatically.
- It is not a parts inventory or accounting system. It tracks that a service is due and done, not your stock of filters or the workshop's ledger.
- Reminders only fire for schedules you set up. A service interval you never entered has nothing to count down, so the register only reflects what you configure.
- Service history is only as complete as what you log. If a repair is done and not recorded, it will not appear — the record rewards the discipline of logging.
