How much does a car tracker cost per month in Tanzania?
Trakora is a flat per-device subscription from 12,000 TZS/mo, billed in TZS with a TRA-EFD VAT invoice. The device itself is a one-off; ask us for the current device price for your vehicle. Pay by M-Pesa, Tigo Pesa, Airtel Money, bank transfer or card.
Can I track my car from my phone?
Yes. You get a live map on your phone and on the web, showing current position, direction and trip history, with alerts pushed to you and on WhatsApp.
Can Trakora stop the engine of a stolen car remotely?
Yes, with a relay-capable device that is professionally fitted. Remote engine-cut disables the starter so a taken vehicle can be immobilised at a safe moment. Plug-in OBD devices track but do not cut the engine.
Does the tracker work where there is no network?
The tracker needs mobile-network coverage to send its position. Where there is no signal it stores the trip and uploads the trail once it reconnects, so you do not lose the route — you just see it slightly delayed.
Is car tracking legal in Tanzania? Do I need a LATRA permit?
Fitting a tracker to your own private car needs no permit. Commercial passenger vehicles (PSV/daladala) fall under LATRA rules; Trakora forwards the required compliance data to LATRA for those vehicles (VTS certification in progress).
Will it help recover a stolen vehicle?
