Hardware setup

Connect your first GPS device

15 minutes. Concox GT06N, Concox AT4, Teltonika FMB920, FMB003 — all use the same flow.

Server endpoint

Configure your tracker to send data to:

Server: 94.156.144.21
Domain: app.trakora.co.tz
Protocol port:
  • Concox / GT06         — port 5023 (TCP)
  • Teltonika FMB / TLT   — port 5027 (TCP)
  • OsmAnd phone app      — port 5055 (HTTP)
  • Tk103 / Coban         — port 5001 (TCP)

Step-by-step (Concox GT06N example)

Insert SIM and power on

Insert a Vodacom M2M SIM (or any 4G data SIM). Plug power. The tracker boots in ~30 seconds.

LED indicators: GPS (red), GSM (green) — both should blink.

Send SMS configuration

Send these SMS commands to the SIM in the tracker (your default password is usually 123456):

SERVER,1,94.156.144.21,5023,0#
APN,internet,,#
TIMER,30,30#

Replace internet with your APN (Vodacom = internet, Halotel = internet.halotel, Airtel = internet).

Wait for GPS fix

Park the tracker outdoors (or near a window). GPS fix takes 30 seconds to 5 minutes for first cold start.

Add device in Trakora

Login to app.trakora.co.tz/devices. Click Add device.

  • Name: friendly name (e.g. "Truck T-101", "Container CMA-12345")
  • Identifier (IMEI): printed on the back of the tracker — 15 digits
  • Phone: the SIM number in the tracker (optional, used for SMS commands)
  • Category: truck / car / motorcycle / asset

Save. Within 1–2 minutes the device appears on the live map.

Verify

Open the Live Map. Your device should show a live marker. Click it to see speed, direction, last update time.

If nothing appears after 5 minutes, see Device not reporting — troubleshooting.

Teltonika FMB920 / FMB003 setup

Teltonikas use the proprietary FMB protocol on port 5027. Use the official Configurator app:

  1. Download Teltonika Configurator from teltonika-gps.com
  2. Connect tracker to PC via USB
  3. System tab → set "Codec" to Codec 8 Extended
  4. GPRS tab → APN as above; Server IP 94.156.144.21; Server Port 5027; Protocol TCP
  5. Save to device, then add in Trakora dashboard with IMEI

Trakora-managed devices (sold by us)

If you bought your device from Trakora, we pre-configure the server and APN. Just add the IMEI in your dashboard and you're live in 5 minutes — no SMS needed.

Common issues
  • Device shows offline: Check the SIM has data balance. Send an SMS STATUS# — tracker should reply.
  • No GPS fix: Move outdoors; GPS doesn't work indoors. Wait up to 10 min on first start.
  • Wrong location: Wait for GPS fix — until then position uses cell-tower (low accuracy).
  • SMS commands rejected: Wrong password. Reset by holding button for 10s, then send PASSWORD,123456,000000#.
