Device not reporting — checklist
When a tracker stops appearing on the live map, work through this checklist top-to-bottom. Most outages are SIM, APN, or port mis-configuration — not hardware faults.
1. Is the device powered?
- Check the LED. On Concox the blue LED (GPS) should pulse and the green LED (GPRS) should be solid or pulsing.
- For hard-wired units check the kill-switch isn't in the off position.
- For battery units check charge with a multimeter — below 3.6 V most trackers won't transmit.
2. Does the SIM have data?
- Pop the SIM into a phone and load fast.com or m.test-ipv6.com. If the phone can't load, the device can't either.
- Common cause: data balance exhausted on a consumer SIM. M2M SIMs don't expire but consumer SIMs do.

3. Is the APN correct?
See M2M SIM cards for the APN matrix. Common APNs:

For Concox: APN,internet#. For Teltonika: Configurator → GPRS → APN.
4. Is GPRS engaged?
- Concox:
GPRS,1#to enable,GPRS,0#to disable. - After enabling, the green LED should go solid within 60 seconds.
5. Does the port match the protocol?
See GPS protocol → server port reference. A Concox device sent to 5027 (Teltonika) is silently dropped.
6. Firewall / network?
If you're behind a corporate firewall, allow outbound TCP 5023 (Concox) and 5027 (Teltonika) to gw.trakora.co.tz. Most M2M SIMs are direct-to-internet so this is rarely an issue.
7. Check Trakora's view
Admin → Devices → Last seen. If the IMEI is listed but stale, the device hit the gateway recently and stopped — check power and SIM. If it's not listed at all, it has never reached the gateway — check protocol/port and firewall.
8. Unbound queue
If Trakora is receiving the device but it's not bound to your workspace it sits in Admin → Unbound queue — bind it to a vehicle and it will start reporting.
