GPS tracker devices for cars and motorcycles
Trakora is device-agnostic: the tracking, geofence, anti-theft and SOS features run the same whichever GPS tracker is in the vehicle. This page names the tracker families Trakora runs in Tanzania and what to weigh when you choose one — for a car or a bodaboda.

The tracker families we name for Tanzania
These are the models Trakora runs today. The list is a compatibility statement, not a stock list — and every spec, dimension and price below is confirmed per device on your quote, never guessed here. Where a value is not fixed in the product, it shows as —.

Only models named in the Trakora tracker inventory are listed. Every — is a value we will not invent on a marketing page — ask for the current spec sheet and TZS price on your quote.
The features ride on the platform, not the box
Whichever tracker you fit, these are the behaviours you get — each backed by a real rule in the vehicle-tracking module.
Live tracking & replay
Live location on a map plus full trip history you can replay — the same on a car or a bodaboda.
/ live-tracking + / replayTow & power-cut alerts
Movement with the engine off raises tracker_tow_move; a disconnected tracker raises tracker_power_cut — a thief's first two moves.
/ anti-theftGeofences & safe zones
Be told the moment a vehicle enters or leaves a zone — the tracker_geofence_breach rule.
/ geofenceRemote immobilizer
An engine-cut command where the device and wiring support it — turning a stolen-car alert into an action.
/ anti-theft-immobilizerSOS / panic
A panic input that fires an escalation to the owner or family sharing — for a lone driver or a rider.
/ sosBattery watch
A tracker_low_battery alert so a self-powered or asset tracker never quietly goes dark on you.
/ subscriptionThree things that actually decide it
Because the software is the same everywhere, device choice comes down to how the tracker is fitted and powered — not brand names. Weigh these three, and we will match a named model to them on your quote.
Does it survive a cut?
If protecting against theft is the point, how the tracker behaves when its main power is pulled matters most — that is the moment tracker_power_cut exists to catch. We match the device to the level of anti-theft you need rather than to a spec sheet you can't verify.
Car or bodaboda?
A hard-wired car install and a motorcycle install are different jobs. The right device is the one that fits the vehicle and the wiring cleanly — which is why we confirm fit per vehicle instead of printing a compatibility claim here.
Do you want an engine cut?
Remote engine-cut needs the device and the wiring to support it and a professional fit. If you want that action — not just an alert — it narrows the device choice, and it is a decision to make before install, not after.
Honest limits
A tracker is hardware on a moving vehicle over a mobile network. Here is what that means.
What this page will not do
- We do not publish device specifications or TZS prices here. They are confirmed per device on a quote — this keeps the page honest rather than carrying a number that drifts or was never fixed.
- The tracker reports over GSM. In a dead zone, fixes buffer and backfill when coverage returns rather than appearing live — no tracker of any brand escapes this.
- A remote immobilizer is device- and wiring-dependent and must be fitted professionally; it is not a software toggle you can add to any box after the fact.
- Only models named in the Trakora tracker inventory are supported. A device not on the list is — until we have confirmed it speaks the protocol — we will not claim a compatibility we have not tested.
- This is a consumer and SME tracking product. For a whole logistics fleet, the fleet module is the right home — see the link rail.
What a device costs
The tracker device is quoted per model and per install; the platform is billed as a per-device subscription in TZS with a VAT invoice. A device price — including a GT06N in Tanzania — is —† on quote, not a fixed published figure. See the pricing page for the subscription tiers.
Figures shown as — are to be confirmed — no device specification or TZS price (including gt06n price tanzania) is published on this page, because none is fixed in the product; each is quoted per deployment. No number here is invented.
Frequently asked questions
Which GPS trackers work with Trakora?
The tracker module names the GT06N and FMB920 families for Tanzania. Because the platform is device-agnostic, other models can be added once confirmed to speak the protocol.
How much is a GT06N in Tanzania?
We do not publish a device price here. A GT06N — and its install — is quoted per deployment in TZS; ask on your quote or on WhatsApp for the current figure.
Can I track a motorcycle or bajaji?
Yes — the tracker module is built for consumer and SME use including motorcycles. The right device and install differ from a car, so we confirm the fit per vehicle.
Does every device support the engine-cut immobilizer?
No. Remote engine-cut depends on the device and how it is wired, and it needs a professional fit. Tell us if you want it and we will match a device that supports it.
Will an alert reach me if the thief cuts power?
That is exactly what the tracker_power_cut rule is for — a disconnected tracker raises an alert rather than simply going silent. How resilient it is depends on the device you choose.
Do you sell the device, or just the software?
Both — a device on a per-model quote, plus the per-device subscription that runs the tracking, geofence, anti-theft and SOS features. The device is yours; the platform is what makes it useful.
